Project Description:

RMTC assisted in the renovation of the Opana Wells in the Kahuku area of Oahu to bring the facility up to operational status for the use of the Turtle Bay Resort.

The engineering scope of work included:

• Assisting in the testing of the wells.
• Obtaining record plans from the Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS), marking as as-built and resubmitting to BWS.
• Editing as-built drawings to reflect modifications recommended by the BWS and Aqua Engineers.

Modifications incorporated into the design included new valves and fittings where needed; conversion of chlorination system from gas based to liquid based (hypochlorite); new telemetry equipment; and new electronic motor controls.

RMTC also obtained approval from the City and County of Honolulu, Board of Water Supply, for the modifications.
