Professional Experience: Mr. Hiyakumoto assumed the role of President of RMTC in October 2012 responsible for setting overall direction and overseeing performance of the firm’s Civil Engineering, Wastewater, Planning, Surveying, and Construction Management practices. Throughout his 27 years at RMTC, Mr. Hiyakumoto has served in various technical and managerial capacities, most recently as the head of the Civil Engineering Department, the firm’s largest practice in both staff and billings. His broad range of professional experience encompasses major infrastructure projects throughout Hawaii and the Pacific involving housing, transportation, water, drainage, and other critical facilities. Notable recent projects completed under his leadership include the Ocean Pointe Master Planned Community, Kualakai Parkway (North-South Road), H-1 Waimalu Viaduct Widening, and major upgrades to the Honolulu International Airport.
