Professional Experience:

Mr. Tanoue contributes 22 years of professional experience with an emphasis on land use and development planning. As former Director of the City and County of Honolulu's Department of Planning and Permitting, Mr. Tanoue possesses an intimate knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and agency processes and perspectives. He also served at the City’s Corporation Counsel as a Senior Deputy providing legal counsel on land use issues to DPP, the City Council Zoning and Planning Committees, Honolulu Planning Commission, and the Board of Water Supply. Mr. Tanoue leads RMTC's Planning & Permitting and Surveying & Mapping Departments, and serves as an advisor to all departments on planning and permitting issues.
