Project Description:

RMTC has provided environmental planning and permitting for the Makai Area of Kakaako, the largest redevelopment district in the State of Hawaii. Through careful planning by HCDA, a multi-phase approach was formulated for redeveloping this large and complex area.  The plan entailed the implementation of a number of “Improvement Districts.”

RMTC served as Construction Manager for planning and design of major infrastructure improvements in Improvement Districts 1-3, which spanned the area from Punchbowl to Cooke Street and from Kapiolani Boulevard to Ala Moana Boulevard.

Weekly meetings were required to coordinate the multiple construction projects occurring within each Improvement District. Coordination of contractors' work with various utility companies, City and State agencies, and local businesses was an important daily requirement.
