PALAU COMPACT
ROAD

Surveying Services:
RMTC surveyors provided survey services for the entire 53 miles of
the proposed highway. A global positioning system (GPS) was used
to stake out the road's baseline, followed by topographic and cadastral
surveying. RMTC field personnel used Palauan guides to assist in
clearing the initial alignment.

Engineering Services:
RMTC engineers provided overall coordination and civil design of an
85 kilometer, two lane road on the island of Babeldaob. The design of the
road included over-coming valleys, cliffs, and swamps. The design also
includes a 1 kilometer causeway across a boat harbor. |
