PALAU COMPACT ROAD
Republic of Palau
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District
Surveying Services:
RMTC surveyors provided survey services for the entire 53 miles of the proposed highway.  A global positioning system (GPS) was used to stake out the road's baseline, followed by topographic and cadastral surveying.  RMTC field personnel used Palauan guides to assist in clearing the initial alignment.

Engineering Services:
RMTC engineers provided overall coordination and civil design of an 85 kilometer, two lane road on the island of Babeldaob. The design of the road included over-coming valleys, cliffs, and swamps. The design also includes a 1 kilometer causeway across a boat harbor.
